I will admit, I did the same thing. Happened earlier than it did with you. Thought my surgery was going to happen in August then got put off until October 30. But I would hate to think we are the only one's that has happened to. I am now almost one week post op. Was scared out of my mind yesterday because I wanted to eat everything my husband, son and grandson were eating. Trying to be stronger today!! So far so good and the day is half over!

For a few days. Had to cut that off. Not buying anymore clothes and I need to fit on the plane.

Yes, this has definitely happened to me. I tried to have all of my favorite foods up until the night before my fast. I had actually put on 4lbs doing it!. But now I am on my last day of my 8 day fast and I have dropped 7lbs. Tomorrow is my day and I am so ready!

I lost 23lbs on my 2 week pre op diet. For the last few days of my pre op diet, I wasnt eating anything. Just like you, I was bored of it. I basically just drunk protien shakes and Water all day. After I had surgery on Oct. 1, I did get bored of my liquid diet and now, in this stage of eating, I am also not ecstatic about it. What I am trying to do is get out of this rut, I am trying new foods, looking up new recipes, and researching all that I can.

OMG...Sarah-lu1 ! I thought I was the only one experiencing this. My surgery is tentatively set for mid Dec. and I have been eating enough for the octomom. The only thing that has slowed me down is that I don't have any more clothes that fit me. My closet is full of the size 4 clothes I grew out of when my band was removed. I am quickly outgrowing my size 12 and I want to cry. (don't get me wrong people, I know some of you would give anything to be in size 12 and I shouldn't be complaining. Well, I am because I have been where you are and I am fighting hard not to go there again. I totally understand it all) Let me know any good ideas to help me stop this ridiculous behavior!

Anyway.. With pre-op appetite actions my forum name should be Ms. Porkeroinker ... Ugh!

Wow 23lbs is awesome! Your doing the right thing try new foods you other wise wouldn't have tried. I want to use this sleeve to leave some foods behind forever, that is my goal at least.

I did the food funeral! Had to have Popeyes one last time. I gained 6 lbs between the time I decided to have surgery and my pre op diet. I lost 14 pounds on the pre op diet and I had a headache for the first 5 days, so I'm glad I didn't start it 5 days before surgery, because I would still have a headache right now as I sit in the hospital waiting for my surgery. I'm kinda glad I did the food funeral too though. It made my tummy feel so crappy, the two week pre op diet was a breeze other than the headache.

Also, I don't think I was a faithful the past two weeks with my Liq diet.

I had a damn Headache for 2 weeks straight. Finally Sat afternoon, woke up headache free. Whew...

Drank my MagCitrate this morning.

Strict Clear Liq only today and tomorrow.

Big Ol suck out 3/4 of my Stomach on Wednesday.

i had my band removed too while i was pregnant and had to wait a year after my lil girl was born to have the sleeve which is the 15th. it could be that we know kinda what we are getting into the restriction that we will have after the surgery that is making us feast like we are

I have definitely done the food funeral. Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today so Mom can eat at ____________ one last time before the surgery.

I almost want to go on the liquid diet early just so I can stop it... But then I remember I haven't had my last blizzard yet (or my last fill-in-the-blank) .. So I give myself one more day. (Suppose to start on nov 14)

Thanks for sharing. I'm supposed to start my pre-op fast the 19th but I've gained about 5lbs since I told my surgery coordinator I weighed 220. I'm thinking maybe I should start the pre-op tomorrow to try to lose the 5lbs before I start the real pre-op on the 19th. Man, this compulsion of mine is so irritating and stupid. I believe that I will need to work on behavior modification for a long time, along with the sleeve, to be successful at maintaining my goal weight.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
