Mexico Doctors - Single Incision Procedure?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone! I am having my surgery on December 12th in Mexico and I've seen a few comments related to the doctors switching over to single incision procedures. Can anyone provide more info and/or confirm this is the case? Thanks!!

I would LOVE more info on a single incision VSG...I heard of this on YouTube and was impressed...I would be interested in this opposed to having multiple incisions...

I had Garcia yesterday. I have 3 incisions and a drain. He said there could be a fourth incision ify liver wasn't shrunk, but I guess it was ok, because I didn't get that one. They are tiny incisions though. I don't know what docs do the single incision, but is it a bigger incision? Because lap surgeries require more than one tool. Just curious.

I believe it goes in through your belly button, so you can't even really see the scar at all! I'd love more info on this as well :) my coordinator told me that the equipment used in that surgery is very expensive, so the cost would go up more than likely for that type of procedure

its called the spider and my coordinator told me it was a very expensive piece of equipment and Mexico would not probably never have it.
