The Weight Isn't Budging...

Recommended Posts

I have been stuck at 245-247 for 2 weeks. I am 4 1/2 weeks post op. i was 280 pre op and 260 day of surgery. Lose a pound, gain 2. Lose 2, gain a pound. It's been 1 heck of a seesaw!

But!!!!!!! I tried on some clothes that were very snug 2 weeks ago when I was still 246 and they fit now! I used to wear a size 18 jean and today I slipped ok a size 14! Just want to remind u all that even if the scale isn't moving, don't get discouraged. Tere are other ways Rolf judging an measuring :)

Wow my phone went autocorrect crazy on me. I meant size 15 not 14 and the last sentence should say there are other ways of judging and measuring lol

It's always nice to hear the reminder! I was at an almost 3 week plateau at 4 weeks post surgery. But you're right- my clothes keep feeling different even though the scale doesn't always move. Thanks for the post!!!! Keep up the good vibrations!

So I get these terrible headaches, And I just got sleeved 10/30/12, has anyone experienced the horrible headaches? I need to get some stool softeners also. When they say liquid foods after 1 week, would that be 11/06 for me, cream Soups, Mashed potatoes.

Hi! The headaches could be from the anesthesia. It can stay in your body for a really long time. As soon as you can, try to really up your liquid intake. And sometimes sitting in a steam room can help. But if they continue, please see your doc. Headaches can also be a result of high blood pressure.

Congrats on being sleeved!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
