Hooray. I started exploring the VS on June 13, 2012, starting weight 255.1

I'm with Kaiser and have been attending classes and doing all my pre-op at the South San Francisco facility.

As soon as I realized how much my contribution would mean to my success, I started exercising and using Lose It! to track my food. I was unsure for a while but am now committed to the VS process and will have the surgery on November 21.

I'm working hard to get ready, and this morning I finally hit 198.6

I've been hoping to get under 200 for my surgery, so I'm a happy camper!

Excited, scared, and can hardly wait for the surgery. I've lost weight before (never this much) but I'm confident the sleeve is exactly what I need to finally succeed.

Im 5'1 and 33 yrs old. I recently joined a new gym and several of my co-workers also joined. So hopefully betwern the surgery and exercise a couple times a week, i can get this excess weight off! Then maybe i can keep up with my 2 year old.

I belong to a gym also, where I swim for an hour a couple times a week, walk the treadmill for 35-45 minutes then weight train for 30 minutes also a couple of times a week. I also ride my bike for 5-10 miles a few days a week, then usually take one day off. I think the exercise has really helped with my weight loss.

I feel like any exercise is better than none at all! I intend on at least treadmill/elliptical 4-5 times a week 45 min to an hour. Thats more than I do now. And I can squeeze that in between work and picking up my little boy at daycare. I also have an elliptical at home. Guess I could wipe the dust off and use it!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
