You have done great so far. Now let me tell you what is really going on. There is nothing to worry about.

You are just in a stall while your body goes through an adjustment period. Look up 3 week stall. My first stall was at 6 weeks also and lasted a good 2.5 weeks. Your body is replenishing glycogen stores from stores fat. For this reason, you will find inches disappear during the adjustment periods. It is best to eat low carb and low fat in order to force your body to create glycogen from stored fat rather than the foods you eat. Once you are clear for solids, eat 2-3 oz of good quality Protein every 3 hours. That will keep hunger at bay and keep the metabolism fired up. Feed the muscle and burn the fat with Protein first in your meals.

At 4 months, I still have my weekly adjustment periods at least once a month , but I still lose on average 10-15 lb a month. There is little you can do to break stalls. They will end automatically on their own accordance.

And the cycle of loss, stall, loss and stall continues.

So chin up and know you are already a success. Now that you know the zen of sleeve weight loss, you can be happy and just enjoy the journey in a relaxed state of mind.

At three weeks I hit my first stall which lasted a month and very slowly dropped 8 pounds. I read as much as I could about the stalls here and tried to be patient. That is much harder to deal with. :) At the end of this first stall, I discovered that I now fit into one pants size down from 18 to a 16, and I went from an XL to a medium in blouse size.

On the flip side, once the scale moves again, the relief is a great feeling. Remotivated and I am now released from my doctor to go back to the gym. That should help further with loss of inches and weight loss, and most important, health!

We all have these (with rare exceptions). You have lost a lot of weight already so feel good about that! This isn't a race, it is a change in lifestyle. Think about how long it took you to put on that weight.

I had a two week stall at 4 weeks and it was frustrating, but not bad or sad. I decided to do something to shake my body up. At first I upped my calories by 200, but that didn't work. Then I upped the intensity of my exercise and drank more fluids. That worked. Either that, or it was just time for the stall to end anyway.

Rejoice in your victory so far! Don't beat yourself up over a number. I'll bet you are feeling a lot better than you did when you were heavier. You are healthier for sure. Savor the feeling of having done something powerfully effective for yourself and let the rest come when it does. You aren't through losing weight. It is still going to happen. We are all too conditioned for instant satisfaction through the influence of marketing. Those weight loss ads usually say something about ....Lose 50 lbs 30 days or your money back! .... Why is it desirable to make something happen immediately? We are more interested in long term results.

Patience isn't one of my strengths either, but reality has its own way of unfolding things.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
