muffintop 62 Posted November 4, 2012 Its very easy for people who have never struggled with their weight to say the things she did. Sure those people lost weight but lets look at them three months from now. You did the right thing and thats what is best for you! Screw her:-) 1 PetraLuxor reacted to this
gmanbat 5,889 Posted November 4, 2012 i was talking with a co worker in another dept. come to find out she is a trainer and really talked bad about the surgery and i should of seen her first and iwouldnt of had the surgery. and how she has clients that were a size 22 down to a 6 and the surgery was a bad idea. made me feel like i really did something really bad. i hate ppl like that. it really upset me. i told her i did everything she began to chestise me for not trying harder and how i could of done this without the surgery. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr So she knew you had an irreversible operation and decided to chew you up anyway for not doing it "her way". I would take an operation any day over spending any time with that unbelievable self-centered clod. 4 beefalogal, PetraLuxor, newgrandmother and 1 other reacted to this
Goodgonebad 38 Posted November 4, 2012 Soo true I was always an up and down lbs type of a girl! Every year since I was 21 I have gained 20-50lbs then loose and the it would creep up! I had it And finally decided to get sleeved!!!! Yea me too!! It's not for most of us that we cant get the weight off its because we cant keep it off. I agree with everyone here. This is a lifelong change we want! 2,3 years from now where are those size 6 people. I swear people need to learn to zip their lips!!!! 1 newgrandmother reacted to this
Holly5.3 423 Posted November 4, 2012 I also agree-let's see where those clients are a year or two from now! Also, how many of these clients were losing weight for the first time? Big difference between a woman losing pregnancy weight than someone who has stuggled with weight their whole life! The best revenge is living well...you show that trainer that this was a healthy choice for you in the long run-it wasn't quick fix! 2 Goodgonebad and newgrandmother reacted to this
JaspersGirl 147 Posted November 4, 2012 Ps one of the many times i lost weight was through a personal trainer and I gained 76lbs back in a year!!!! 1 newgrandmother reacted to this
cherrybombknits 184 Posted November 4, 2012 If I were her (of course I'm not), I would have asked the OP to come see me if she wanted help once she could exercise. What's the point of giving someone crappé for something over and done? Trainer could have gotten another client and success story instead of being a jerk. 3 gmanbat, Getting There and newgrandmother reacted to this

vonego82 36 Posted November 4, 2012 yeah maybe we could of all done it without surgery, but EHHHH it took us only 3 months to lose 60+ pounds!!! hahahahaha, how long did it take her clients to lose it :-P so, bit me you nasty co-working beotch! :-D haha jk! 1 newgrandmother reacted to this
newgirltx 41 Posted November 4, 2012 You are a brave woman and a great example! Any health professional and I mean professional would just be happy that you took a step to loose weight and take care of your health! That woman is obviously not aware of the fact that if you could have just worked out and lost weight you would have. Be proud and know that she is probnly exaggerating her own accomplishments with her clients. 1 newgrandmother reacted to this

Getting There 198 Posted November 5, 2012 New GM you're doing an amazing job and don't let some snooty personal trainer get to you. Ya know Oprah Winfrey has had a very highly respected personal trainer, Bob Greene, and she can't seem to lose weight or maintain a weight loss. So doing this with only a personal trainer is of benefit because??? You just keep doin' what you're doin' and when you're at a healthy weight - and when you're able to maintain that weight - we'll see what Mr. Smarty Pants has to say then. 1 newgrandmother reacted to this
Eat That Frog 53 Posted November 5, 2012 Actions speak louder than words...your continued success will show that this was the best decision for you. I am 2 months out and have only told a couple of people for this reason.
E-girl 98 Posted November 5, 2012 I had a guy at work say something very similar. My response was something like "You are sooo right! Why didn't I think of just dieting and exercise before? What a novel idea! Oh that's right I did try that and look how successful it work for me over the past 30 years. I lost at least 300lbs in 30 years. Diet and exercise alone works so well for everyone that over 50% of America is overweight or obese". Of course I did this in front of a bunch of people at work. He felt like an idiot like he should have. He only has nice things to say now. ???? 4 danyelleb, newgrandmother, Getting There and 1 other reacted to this
takroom 192 Posted November 5, 2012 Newgrandmother- all I can say is, until someone has walked in your shoes, no one should chastise you for the decision you made. Shame on her!!! 2 xavtay2 and newgrandmother reacted to this
xavtay2 85 Posted November 5, 2012 Wow that was rude!!! I don't know why so many people think that having weightloss surgery is the easy way out because it isn't. Heck it is no wear near easy!!! Keep your head up and don't let what she said get you upset because it you did what was best for YOU and so did everyone else here.... 1 newgrandmother reacted to this
