Smoothe Move Tea For Constipation?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried the smoothe move tea post op for Constipation? I used it before many times but am concerned about irritating my sleeve. I'm 3 weeks post op and still on liquids. The tea is caffeine free herbal stuff.

Thanks!

I was wondering about this too, I bought some yesterday and tried it today, my tummy feels fine, but the box says it takes 6 hours to work, so, we shall see :)

where do you buy this at? Is it something that you drink everyday or is it only when you're constipated?

I got mine from Meijer's and it says for occasional Constipation. I sure hope it works. I'm having a hard time getting in extra veggies.

I got a good price for it off Amazon.com. it is pretty potent stuff so I would just use it as needed.

I used Smooth Move tea prior to surgery and it upset my stomach but all laxatives do so I don't take them. I drink Water like it's going out of style instead.

It's made with natural senna tea, a stimulant laxative vs. osmotic. It's ok on occasion but I found my sleeve and my system prefers osmotic which just helps get more Water into your stool. Stimulant can become addictive for some and not good for long term, cause painful cramping. I prefer stool softeners, magnesium citrate, lots of Vitamin C and if desperate Fleet enema always does the trick.

I had a lot of problems with Constipation. I could never find the Smooth Move tea, but I tried Miralax and several other things. When it was so bad I was nauseous I tried a stool softener with laxative. It took the whole 12 hours to work but it was the best feeling ever LOL! I took it a few times as needed but now I drink diet cran-grape (Oceanspray, 5 cals) every day and it seems to be working.

Our Walmart sells it, Kroger, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, try looking there not hard to find. It doesn't work as good for me now as before, nothing really does:/

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
