Can Anyone Define "not Tolerate" For Me?

Recommended Posts

I have been looking at my preop information and it repeats several times that during postop, you may not be able to tolerate certain foods when progressing from Clear Liquids to a regular diet. Does anyone know exactly what to expect when not being able to tolerate a food? Does it mean that you will get nauseated and likely vomit or will it give you stomach pain or what??? Hubby asked me this afternoon and I didn't have an answer for him and now I'm curious too!!! Thanks all!

It can be a lot of things, the ones you mention, getting nauseated or upset stomach to full on stomach pain. You may also experience diarrhea or Constipation from foods that never bothered you before. Or it could be as mild as a real mental turn off for certain foods. Everyone is different and things change as your progress post-op.

Yes it is my advise to progress slowly. Don't rush each phase. Chew well and eat slowly.

Thank you both!! I am definitely going to take things slow as far as diet progression, but just like to know what to expect for future reference! Thanks for the help!!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
