During the first six months your stomach is not tollerating all foods (ie crap), it's smaller and as such the weight is falling off at whatever rate is a good rate for your body. After that you can eat more and typically your stomach can tolerate more, leaving the option of going back to your bad ways more open to some. But it's not a drop dead date by any means. It's just the clinically proven highest period of weight loss.

I have lost 90 lbs in 4 1/2 months, so it can be done. I am faithfully going to the gym and only eating what I'm supposed to, I read so many posts on this site where people are eating chips, candy, ice cream, brownies and so on, but I did not go thru this surgery to be able to eat all that crap that got me to almost 350 lbs! I love my sleeve!

Also, by 6 months, your metabolism will adjust to your new intake as well as lighter weight....slowing down weight loss.

You will probably not lose 100 lbs in six months. The average during that period is sixty percent of excess body weight. The balance of weight you want to lose will likely come after the honeymoon period.

I was sleeved on 8/14 and I started around 231 and im 189 today. I think everyone looses differently. It all depends on diet and how much you exercise.

But people don't typically lose all excess weight in the six month period. As BB said, towards the end of your journey the weight loss slows because of metabolism changes. Since 8/23 I've lost about what you have, though I gained significant weight within the first six weeks. But now my weight loss is slowing as I approach the half way mark for what I want to lose. (Dang it LOL)

You mean kind of like a person who yells, "3...2...1. I'm debt freeeeeeee!!" On the Dave Ramsey shoe. Some people will know what I am talking about. :)

I'm not sure if this is helpful in this context or not, but here is a thread that I started yesterday in Exercise:

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
