stacie9229 7 Posted November 3, 2012 M 6 1/2 months out, down 112lbs from a 3x to a large in most things (I think I have the whole Roaman's/Jessica London catalogs in lg or 18). Ordered a cute studded double-wrap belt from JL. No real "belt sizing" info & all the reviews said how HUGE it was, to order a size down, so I ordered the large. The thing is like 8" too SHORT!!!! Here I was feeling all skinny (funny how "skinny" actually feels after being 340 just a few short months ago). Anyway, the feeling brought me all the way back to the secret shame of never being able to find clothes that fit, and hating shopping. Had to get some more professional. clothes for my new job Monday & actually kinda "needed" that belt for my new outfits. On top of that, the belt was $15 and they want $8 to exchange it! Now so know why I never wore frickin belts. Feeling fat all over again.

ProudGrammy 8,322 Posted November 3, 2012 6 1/2 months down 112lbs, - I ordered the large. 8" too SHORT!!!! stacie holy moley - am i seeing correctly? - you have lost 112 lbs so far!! without hurting your arm, reach back and give yourself a pat on the back as mentioned, sizes fit differently from manufacture to another - same thing must have happened w/that belt "they" told you to buy a smaller size because the belts are supposedly "huge" you listened to "them" like any good customer would/should - they messed up, not you to add insult to injury - they actually want to charge you an additional $8.00 to return the belt!!! are you kidding me??? ljam75 is right on target suggesting you keep the belt for motivation "feeling fat all over again" - girlfriend, don't give into shame and stuff you felt from before you lost weight. (never should have felt that way before, but thats easier said than done, i felt the same way) don't return the belt, periodically, try that belt on - before you know it, you can strutt your stuff and wear it with pride and a feeling of accomplishment to that new job of yours big kudos on your weight loss keep up the good work take care 1 TakeCareGirl reacted to this
Holly5.3 423 Posted November 3, 2012 Please don't let the belt upset you! You are doing fabulous. Ok, so you had a little fashion set-back, hang the belt in your bedroom where you can see it, and use it as your inspiration! Picture yourself wearing it; how much smaller your waist will be! I purposely bought an adorable black stretch dress (Target) a size XL (14/16) when I was wearing a 22. The dress hangs where I can see it every night and when I wake up! I can't wait to wear it, it's so cute! It will happen, I just pray for patience and strength!you will wear that belt...and it will get too big! Think it-believe it-See it and it will be! 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
hawkihoops 20 Posted November 3, 2012 don't let that stupid belt take an ounce of pride away from you. You have done amazing so far and you will keep up the good work!
stacie9229 7 Posted November 4, 2012 My awesome bf turned the too-small double wrap belt into a perfectly fitting single wrap, he had to sew down all the detailing and you absolutely cannot tell anything has been done to it. I have a big extra piece that I might sew to make an ornamental thing for my brand new short Dingo cowboy boots. I'm so happy and he is SO sweet. 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
