I made homemade chicken noodle Soup Wednesday slow cooked for a long time. I ate too much of homemade chicken soup and made bake rigatoni for dinner that same night. Now I have felt not only full but stuffed heartburn sick since I ate both of them things. I only ate a few ounces of each one for lunch one for dinner. I am clear for rice pastas and breads. But I feel stuffed and sick to my stomach like the food is stuck in the middle of my throat. Anyone else do this to themselves and if so how do I fix it this really sucks lol :). I did buy some Prilosec today and took it doc said it was ok. But it's not helping nothing is helping not even all the Water I drink.

I am only a few weeks out and my Vitamins feel that way! Almost as if they are working their way back UP my esophagus! Crazy...

I was told with food to chew it smaller... that might help.

As far as heart burn I have not had any since my surgery.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
