Telling Everyone About Surgery, But...

Recommended Posts

There is a thread about this already, but I've got to get back to work and make this quick. Told my uncle "the king of having only d---chebag things to say" and who woulda thunk it?!?!? Not one nice thing to say. The best thing of all though is after 30 years of never having a retort to his douchieness, I finally got him back with one word...."AND!?!?". He would say "you know you can only eat a couple of ounces at a time" to which my response was simply and sarcastically "and?". After a few more stupid negativities and the same reply, he finally said, just wanted to make sure you thought of everything and you're going to do great!!! HA! In yo' face, unc!!!!!

Remember, you don't have do defend your position or choice. People like your uncle are only trying to get a rise out of you.

Know you are have VSG to become a new you, a healthy you, a skinny you, an exercising fool you and a smile ear to ear you.

Hugs - and don't let the haters take you down. I love my sleeve and have no regrets.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
