You get hungry. I am also hungry. You just gotta deal and not eat. I want to eat, but I don't because I will gain. I get hungry a lot sooner after I eat. I mean just an hour or two when it used to be four to five hours. Go for a walk. Play an online game. Watch a movie. Work Out. But whatever you do, don't eat.

I am finding I am hungry more often too. If so, I have vegies and fruit ready for me, most of the time a few bites does the trick.

I've said this somewhere else on this forum, but my doctor asked me what happens when you are hungry? He replied .....Nothing.

As overweight people, we are far too willing to fill any bit of emptiness inside with as much as we can. Feeling empty is not something most overweight people are accustomed to, so it doesn't feel normal.

We are having to rewire ourselves from the inside out. Moving out of your comfort zone is not easy. It is challenging. We are having to employ strategies that are different such as drinking a lot more clean Fluid, eating more Protein, eating fewer carbohydrates and cutting out the sugar, starch, bread and other refined foods that we love so much.

Nope. Not what I would call fun. But most days are good and when I'm really hungry I fill up on low fat cottage cheese, hot tea, low fat yogurt, or I just get busy.

You should not eat. No fruit, no veggies. If you are hungry and it is in between eating times then stay hungry. Drink Water, but don't eat. it is a bad habit. It could potentially get worse. And fruit is nothing but sugar. You shouldn't eat it at all. Sorry I am being a bit bossy today :) But I am tired of people struggling and a lot of the people who are one, two, three years out disappear from the board. So I am 1.5 years out, and I am going to keep it real. I am hungry. I mean I just ate a whole chicken breast, and I can feel it digesting and can feel some hunger pangs coming. It is not easy.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
