Aaron in Tulsa 147 Posted October 31, 2012 I was sleeved yesterday. I'm doing fine on liquids but I tend to swallow air with my sips, which causes painful gas. Tips for how to stop this from happening?

Tips for how to stop this from happening?[/quote'] Hi there Aaron in Tulsa! I am one week and one day post op. the best advice that i can give for swallowing air when sipping Water is to make the sips smaller still. I swill it around my mouth and just let a little go down at a time. One week along and I know what is a good amount for me. Take each day as a new day as it gets easier in a short time. 1 Aaron in Tulsa reacted to this

Yep, small sips is really the best idea. Are you taking Gas X? That can help. They come in strips too which is better for the recently sleeved. Good luck!! smithpy 117 Posted November 1, 2012 If you we're just leaved you are going to have horrible trapped gas for 2-3 days no matter how small you sip. Partly because of the anesthesia. Walk walk walk to get rid of it.
Aaron in Tulsa 147 Posted November 1, 2012 Thanks everyone. I've got Gas-X strips but they don't help me all that much. In the hospital they gave me Gas-X liquid, which was more helpful, but I couldn't find it at Walgreen's. Smaller sips have helped some, and I'm walking walking walking! I hear that each day is better than the last, so I'm looking forward to the next few days!
