catryem 14 Posted October 31, 2012 I do so well during the day on my shakes and Water only..then I go home and have to cook for the kids....cooking for them and not being able to eat it is soooo hard... My date is november 5....and I am down 15 lbs from this preop diet....not too much longer! What is your hardest part of the day?
dexter 205 Posted October 31, 2012 I agree. When the kids are away at school it's pretty easy. With my pre-op diet, I get one little meal a day. After eating that, it's hard to turn it all off. I'd love to eat the rest of the night! I've been doing 3 shakes and a meal for over a month now. Weekends are excruciating! Everyone is home. Teenaged boys making numerous trips to the fridge- ugh! But our big stomachs will be gone soon!
dlinnh 44 Posted October 31, 2012 Having the surgery and eating afterwards will be the easy part - because this pre-op liquid crap is nuts to handle! I would kill to be able to eat a small sensible meal per day! I'm expected to have nothing but 5 shakes per day and water! No popsiciles, SF Jello or fat free broth! nothing - really? I have been bitching about this since I started on Monday - I have to get my head around this whole process and soon - focus focus focus
CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted October 31, 2012 After 8pm.... it is when the head hunger shows up even after all this time since surgery...
Chimera 644 Posted October 31, 2012 There isnt really a hard time anymore - now it is a relief that I am no longer controlled by an obsession with food. Feels good to be free Before surgery I would say anytime i tried to do the all liquid thing - what a nightmare and I feel for the folks who have to do weeks of shakes for their pre-op, its torture. For my pre-op my doc has his patients do Atkins induction - hellooo chicken breasts and cheese lol - wasnt so bad.
catryem 14 Posted October 31, 2012 I am glad...cause this stinks! I have the shakes...sugar free Jello..pops...and broth...it amazes me how different the pre op diets are...
cdbloo01 20 Posted October 31, 2012 The pre-op diet is very hard. I do two Protein Shakes a day and one low fat, low carb dinner. The dinner does help some. I am really hungry tonight but can't eat anymore today. Guess an early bedtime is in store for me tonight. It's very hard tonight. I don't understand all of the different diets either. I have to do it for two weeks but many others don't do it as long. I'm ready to get to surgery day.
