shayv123 96 Posted October 31, 2012 I am exactly 1 week out from surgery, and my stomach and back aches so bad. If I breathe in hard, if I swallow to hard, and I still have my drain in so I can sleep on one side of my body (I.e.side that aches). sleeping on back causes more pain cause there is too much space between my butt and back and that causes discomfort. I'm not sure what I can do to get relief, my husband thinks I should take the pain medicine, but I'm not so sure that it will help this type of pain. Someone please tell me that is will pass soon, I really thought at one week out that I would feel better than this.
DianaE 128 Posted October 31, 2012 It sounds like the pain I experienced with the gas they used to blow me up for the surgery! It was very bad.. I am goin gto say it took a good 8-10 days to go away totally.. I am on day 14 and I have no pain. I never had any pains with the wounds, it was my BAck, chest, and shoulders.. The pain meds did take the edge off a little. Hang in there.. It will get better soon

Traci J. 207 Posted October 31, 2012 If you have to sleep on her back put a pillow underneath your knees, that will alleviate the space in between your back/butt.
SkinnyWannaBe 6 Posted October 31, 2012 I sleep on my back, with my knees/ legs elevated by 2-3 pillows. It flattens the lower back and provides relief there, but also when our legs are elevated above our heart- it takes alot of pressure off of the legs as well. I love sleeping this way- it's soo comfy- and really relaxes me....like when i am at a spa!
