mizzle2105 4 Posted October 31, 2012 Hello everyone, So I got a call from my doctor's office yesterday and they called to schedule my upper GI... I know this doesn't seem like much but for me that call put this in reality. I am really going to have surgery in the next 6-7 months. I am really going to achieve my goal of being healthier and happier. I know that to some people it was just a phone call but for me this is the start of my new life. I just had to share my excitement with everyone. Thanks for tolerating my ramblings. Lol!

mizzle2105 4 Posted October 31, 2012 In my many failed attempts at losing weight. I always swore off surgery. I felt like if I had surgery I was a failure. Now I realize that having surgery doesn't mean that I am a failure or that I am looking for a way out. It means that I am taking control of my life. I know there are only good things from here on out.
Katnroyal 225 Posted October 31, 2012 exactly, and surgery isnt easy, you still have to work at it and make smart food choices and change your lifestyle. The sleeve is a tool! I think you will do great! 1 mizzle2105 reacted to this
mizzle2105 4 Posted October 31, 2012 Thank you... I already know the exercise and eating right part. I just need that extra push and I think this surgery is just what I need
Katnroyal 225 Posted October 31, 2012 Exactly! I am here if you ever need anything! Where are you located?
mizzle2105 4 Posted October 31, 2012 Thank you! I need all the friends that I can get that understand what I am about to go through. I am located in Charlotte, NC. My family knows that I am having surgery and they are all very supportive. I told one of my best friends and she is supportive but she feels like I could still do it on my own. I haven't told my other best friend yet because she doesn't believe in anything that alters your body. She doesn't even believe in birth control. I am just not ready for the criticism. I just got comfortable with the idea of having surgery.
