Frozen Dinner Survey

I use these too all the time. I wrap them up in a lettuce wrap with a little shredded cheese for lunch. I also chop them up and up them in my egg beaters.

Great idea... Thanks!

I've been hooked on Morningstar Farms classic grillers. Never thought I'd be a veggie burger person but they are good! And they are thin so I can eat almost a whole one, which is 15g of Protein. Add a slice of cheese and reduced sugar ketchup.< /p>

Also, I love the chicken sausage too. Emeril's are my fave but they about 1.5x as expensive as Johnsonville. Plus, Jville microwave better. I add a little spaghetti/pizza sauce and parmesan cheese. Mmm!

Tyson and Perdue have come out with lightly breaded chicken nuggets and strips. I want to say 5-6g of carbs for 3 oz.

These three items are my most popular "quick foods." As a single woman with no kids sometimes it's hard to get motivated to cook for one person

Another tip, pack your lunch the night before! It's a difficult routine to get into but I make sure I put together a lunch-sized portion of my leftovers to just grab and go in the morning. I keep laughing cow and cheese sticks stocked in the communal fridge at work. I usually have nuts, Protein Bar and Peanut Butter in my desk. There's no one solution for everyone so just find what works for you!

Those are great ideas. I love morning star. I am okay with corn and the spicy black bean burgers are my favorite. ESP with Heinz 57. The morning star fills me with out weighing me down.

Nutritionists live in an ideal world. We live in the real world. Nutritionists' advice is a guideline. Some of us are very busy. We don't cook; I don't know how to cook. Low-cal frozen dinners with preservatives are better than my OLD eating habits.

Amen!

While this thread is about frozen dinners, I also like purchasing rotisserie chickens. By switching up sides and using different sauces I can get several tasty meals out of one.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
