Syntrax Nectar Question!

Recommended Posts

I ordered a sample pack from bariatric pantry. They deliver pretty quickly and have good prices. Plus they put up with my 'special shipping instructions' like 'just for fun, draw a cat on the box'. I'm a nut, I know. But the psychologist already cleared me!

Not to sound naiive, but did they actually draw a cat on the box? Because if so...the sheer awesomeness of that would make me a loyal customer!! Hahaha

Yes they did! I've made 3 orders with 3 different drawing requests. All three times I got my drawing. It also tells me it's a small company (also you can tell its all well hand packed) and they enjoy their jobs.

Granted I'm a bit nutty on top of it all so... Yeah.

Double stuff Cookies is my favorite, especially when mixed with light soy. Generally I use between 6-10 oz of soy with the powder.

Go to the food thread under places to order samples under Protein powders and the

Sytrax phone number is on there. That's the best deal to get samples, direct from the company.

I didn't care for the Lemon Tea or the apple one. The rest were pretty good though. I mixed most of them with skim milk (8-10 ozs). As someone else said, Nectars tend to be thinner than most Protein Shakes anyway, so 16ozs, to me, would be too much. LOVED strawberry Kiwi, Cappuccino, Mountain Sky, Cookies and Cream, chocolate, and vanilla.< /p>

I just got the samples and tried the cherry and it was YUCKY to me. I did mix it with 16oz of Water and threw it out after I choked down 4oz. I guess I will try with less water and see how the others are.

ok I too normally mix with more water. I started mixing it with less(8-12oz) and sure makes it taste more like Protein. I prefer with a little more water.

cherry did a good job hiding the Protein but I didnt like it either. I have liked lemon tea best so far

Roadside Lemonade my favorite. I add 16 oz Water and give it a squirt of lemonade mio to boost the lemon flavor...yummy! Also loved the double stuff cookie with 1% milk.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
