Syntrax Nectar Question!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys and gals! I received the sample pack of Syntrax Nexctar to try out the different flavors. So tonight I made a pack of the Apple flavored and mixed it with 16oz of ice cold Water. and it takes awful. Am I doing something wrong? Im almost afraid to try any of the other flavors cus this one tastes so bad. Should I have only used 8oz it says you can used between 8-16oz of water. How do you mix yours? Thanks!

I didn't care for the fruity juice flavors much myself! I think the only one I liked was the cherry and the lemonade was doable. I think those would probably taste better if you made an icee out of them with a blender!

The creamy flavors like mocha, chocolate and vanilla are really good!

I didn't care for the apple, but I thought their chocolate truffle and vanilla were really good.... well, by Protein Drink standards. I wound up buying tubs of those.

For the fruity ones, I mixed them with ice in my magic bullet so they were kinda like slushies. There were pretty good - but I still liked the choc and vanilla the best. I guess I must not be too crazy about them as I still have several packets from that sample pack! Shoulda had them over the summer as I just get too cold now having icey drinks like that!

The only fruity one I like was the carribean cooler. Also I would blend it in un-iced Water first and then add the ice cubes. Found that most Protein Drinks do not mix as well in liquid that is too hot or too cold. I liked the Cappuccino latte for a couple months but now it is too sweet for me.

:) thats why its awesome to get the sample pack that way your not wasting your money on the tubs. I personally like them a little weaker. I mix them in about 20-24 oz of tap Water. I then freeze them til slushy and drink them in a mixer container with the whisk ball. I def would do them in a blender but its much easier to freeze and do it that way :) so maybe try adding a little bit more water and doing then either with crushed ice, blender or frozen

16 of liquid is too much. They are kind of watery to begin with, compared to other Protein Drinks. I've added sf pudding mixes to some of them to thicken them up, cause I like my Protein drinks to be like milk shakes, with ice in the blender.

I believe it says on there 8-16oz? is what you can mix them with. I wish I liked milkshakes so I could eat the creamy ones with milk. For some reason with the milk it grosses me out :( and I love milk

yeah, I never use real milk. I use almond milk, or sometimes I use half Hood Carb countdown, and half Water.< /p>

I tried strawberry Kiwi and Fuzzy Navel. I love them both! I mix in room temperature Water and add ice cubes. I didn't care for the Carribean Cooler as much. Those are the only ones I've tried. I would like to try the chocolate or cappuccino but I'm so tired of trying Protein drinks that I'll stick with these for awhile.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
