Well I may or may not be having the surgery again..... Because I met the new surgeon a week and a half ago and I found out she makes people loose 35 lbs become surgery. So I did my thing and lost 28 lbs so now I think I'm screwed. So I'm waiting on the call to see if she'll do it or not. :( I can't handle much more of this.

I can't imagine she would deny you on the basis of 7 lbs. It is amazing how difficult everyone has to make things for us isn't it! Good luck Fyre and I'm sure you will be just fine.

I'll be sending my best vibes your way! It seems a little unfair that they would deny you NOW just bc SHE is new... But then again, after my recent go-round with my PCP, nothing surprises me. Best wishes!!! Keep us posted.

I find it SO fustrating that the WLC's and the Docs make us jump threw such hoops.... its such a waste of money and time sometimes. Its like telling aperson who needs heart surgery that they will do it.. .IF the person can run two miles on the treadmill while standing on there hands and whistling dixie. ~sorry had to vent~

I just posted on a new hoop thrown my way! Yes, it's so frustrating. It feels like a test to see if we REALLY want this.

Times like this, it's hard not to feel used because we are fat. But we keep trudging onward. Being overweight has taught us to be resilient if nothing else.

So they ended up calling me to drive down and get weighed to see what the surgeon said. So after a while they finally gave the ok for surgery!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
