My discharge instructions were "48 hours free of pain medicine and not feeling pain that would mess me up driving." Paraphrased of course. I had surgery friday afternoon, was released Sunday at noon and waited to drive until Wednesday morning. I only took one dose of pain meds Sunday night but I probly did not need to. :)

Mine really had to do with the pain meds. I was not to drive if I was taking them. Luckily I stopped taking them right out of the hospital. My instructions were no pain meds and not until you felt comfortable stomping your foot on the ground. They don't want you to hesitate stomping on the brakes.

ok. Thanks. I am trying to figure out the logistics of getting home from another part of the state after my surgery... the niece that was going to bring me back on the 21st of December has now decided that she can't do it until Christmas Eve. I am a single parent with 3 children. That 3 days is huge.

Same here 24 hours off pain meds and I used a abdominal binder, that kepted my incisions tucked and snugged, and that equals less pain.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
