@tutu

Oh cool. I had to actually get records from my obgyn as well because my heaviest weight of 2011 from my PCP was barely 200. Luckily I had gone to my obgyn and had the 216. I just bounced around a lot. Good luck to u and keep me posted

Its funny you should say that because my dietician measured me as a 1/2 in shorter and I tried to correct her and she pretty much gave me a wink like 'no no, its ok, we'll just leave it there'. I love her.

I'm 5'7" too and freaked out when my surgeon's office measured me at 5'8"! I had shoes on and immediately declared that was not my correct height. :) Still came up at 40 bmi...whew!

Ok' date=' I have BCBS Federal so it's really a good insurance to have. It requires 3 months diet with NUT BMI with 35-40 with comorbidities or BMI over 40. My BMI is over 40 and I have a month and a half to go on the NUT thing. My problem is they also have to submit a two year history from my regular doctor showing a BMI OVER 40 I'm one of those people who bounce all over the place and lose and gain weight constantly. Last December I was 180 now I'm 250. I don't know if I was over 40 during the last two years when I went to doctor. I am waiting on my records from my PCP. Anyone else experience this? Trouble with the two year history? How strict is the insurance company?[/quote']

Hey Jessica BCBS is wonderful!!! I have BCBS Federal and I had to go through the Nut visits , 2 year history and I wasn't over 40 BMI during those 2 years... I am a revision and my weight was up and down for 2 years....I went to my PCP at least once per year and that's what they are looking for- how much did you weigh? Well after my last NUT visit my paper work was turned in on a Wednesday and I received the call that I was approved on Friday. They are not strict at all.

That's funny...I thought it was just me, but it makes complete sense that they *might* try that to get a higher BMI. I'm not accusing anyone, but I'm 5'10 1/2" and they had me at 5' 9" I said I was sure I was taller than that and it was as if I'd never said anything! wow...

      Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

      Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

      The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

        Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
