Whey Protein

Recommended Posts

Is whey Protein good ?

Haha not really. It's chalky and medicinal but if you mix it properly it's no big deal to get down :)

It's the most absorbable form, but the taste can be somewhat, uh, disappointing.

It sounds like the description for whey Protein is just like the description for barium, which I found chalky and disgusting.

I really liked Syntrax Nectars and powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury. Try the sample packs to see what you like. Not chalky at all. Most pre mixed are yucky though.

Chike is also good. The Syntax nectar double stuffed cookie is amazing.

I will try chike soon. As soon as I need a break from what I have. Sounds like most people like it.

I have been disappointed with Chike. I just got the sample and I find that they are very "frothy" I have been blending them in the blender with ice and soy or almond milk. Any other way people are making it that is not so frothy?

Whey is the best form of Protein for VSG patients. It will help prevent muscle loss better than any other because it is absorbed so quickly, especially right after a workout.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
