I was sleeved on Oct 22nd.

I have been waking a few times a night. I throw my robe on and I'm out the door for a walk! I have been told by my kids when mom is up everyone is up! So I just go for a 20 min walk come back climb in bed and nap for another hour and a half... and that has been my routine for the past week!

Ive had issues since coming home from the hospital. I take benedryl at night to knock me out and it still does not work well. I can't take anything stronger because I need to wake up around 4 to get my son a bottle, but it sucks that even on benedryl (like 4 of them) I don't get sleepy. I've been staying up way too late and then I'm too tired when I have to get back up at six.

I was blaming it on the hospital hours. I was there for 22 days so perhaps there is some truth to that, but given so many others have the same problem it can't be all that. I still wake up at 6:00 and expect to see the surgeon's (gad they did early visiting hours) next to my bed.

I am getting better but it's still not great. I'm on week four of the second surgery and week ummm 10 on the first. I must admit, I did sleep pretty well when my lungs were filling with Fluid prior to the hospitalization...perhaps it might have been the delaudid and vicodin (is that the right name???) combination. If ya'll want a cocktail to make you sleep...those two do knock you for a loop! LOL

lol I hear you! While I was in the hospital, I was given Lortab and while it didn't take away my pain, it did knock me out. So... the other night when I was wide awake and unable to sleep, I decided.. hey! I can take some more Lortab and knock out tonight and OMG!!! I so regretted that after I took it. It made me hyper and what ever sleepy feeling I had was wiped away and my heart was pounding and racing fast and hard. I really couldn't sleep after that thinking I was going to stroke out. It had never done that to me till that day. I guess much more changes than just the size of our tummies.

I was ok'd by the Dr to take Benadryl pills so I took 2 last night and fell asleep. Finally! I didn't even want to get out of bed in the morning because I feared not being able to sleep again! lol I think I'll be taking Benadryl from now till things get back to normal.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
