Was jumping on the scale once or twice a day. I stayed the same this week, but I am wearing a smaller shirt and pulled my belt buckle in a notch!

Thinking even once or twice a month may be better for weigh in. Want to focus on a better life not a number.

Yeah, it is hard to stay away from the scale. Great philosophy to work on better life and not a number...I will have to remember this when I get sleeved.

I plan on taking my weight and measurements monthly from the day of my surgery, 12/19. I don't want to obsess about the scale, I see too many people on here panic when they have a stall. When my clothes fall off I'll know I'm good lol

I had my hubby hide the scale. I cant not step on it every time I go in there. Now it is just once a week and much better!

The latter is a better plan. I don't have enough control to only weigh twice a month. Lol. It takes lots of will power from me to weigh only once a week. It also is a good idea to take measurements. This helped get me through a couple stalls.

Great idea on taking measurements. I should do that tomorrow for the "starting" measurements. I have an old unreliable scale and keep thinking I should replace it before surgery but I cam be compulsive about weighing myself even before I've had surgery so for now I am just relying on the weigh ins at the doctors office.

I have refused to purchase a scale right now. I will when I am 3months postoperative.

From the start i've decided that there will be no scale in my house. I see a doctor/nut enough that if i only gauge my weight-loss off visits to their office i will be okay. Its worked out great so far, and i've only gained once, but that was within 24 hrs and 2 different dr scales (one was digital and the other was analogue, and it was a diff of about 1 pound).

No need to obsess over a number when i can just focus on how i feel...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
