Any Halloween Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

Hmm, good thing or bad thing? At least it won't be a full moon. How is everyone feeling? I don't know how to feel right now. I know what's done is done but I can't help thinking "I did this to myself", and look and what I'm doing to correct it. I think Tylenol PM is in my near future, I'm not going to be able to sleep the next coupe of nights. My mind is just racing. Does anyone else find themselves just thinking about all aspects of the surgery 24 hours a day? Save me from myself!!!!

I am feeling the same exact way! My surgery is the day before Halloween. Today, I was Crying one minute and happy about my choice the next! But, I know I am making the right choice for my health and happiness. I too will be taking a sleeping aid tonight to keep my mind from over thinking.

Wishing you the very best on your journey

I'm a Halloween soon to be sleever... I'm totally consumed with this. Can't keep my mind off of it.

I'm a Halloween sleever as well. So glad to hear I'm not the only ones whose emotions are all over the road! I figured it was the food deprivation! Rolling into day 7 of Clear Liquids. I've eaten nothing but broth, Jello and Popsicles for a whole 6 days! I'm so ready for this. The week has had its challenges but overall, not that bad. I find myself antsy and unable to sleep. It's 3:20 am! I find irony in receiving Halliween as my date for surgery. No more candy!

I'm getting sleeved tomorrow too! Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I'm a little bummed I'll be spending it in the hospital. I am on a rollercoaster of emotions as well, all over the place!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
