Jesser 295 Posted October 28, 2012 Ok, I'm a about to pay my deposit!! I'm just sitting here pondering on if I REALLY want to go through with this and imagining just how different my life will be once I do... It's a huge decision. I hope and pray that I'm doing what's best for me...

AStephenson 159 Posted October 28, 2012 Once I sent in my deposit (mine was non-refundable) it solidified my decision...it definitely makes it feel more real, that it's going to happen! I'm hoping these next few months fly by, I've spent too much time already this way..next chapter please! 1 ByeByefatgirl. reacted to this
iegal 460 Posted October 29, 2012 Only you can make this choice. The what if's are a killer. Personally, i wrote down why I needed to do this and read that list often. Daily or hourly sometimes. Confident you will make the right decision for your future. Hugs for you.
LezzieLez 180 Posted October 29, 2012 I paid my deposit and am still fighting with my decision. I think about the benefits, hope that my pains go away (its raining and my body is killing me), but then I think about the sagging, complications, keeping the weight off, etc. I am going to go through with it because I look forward to having the energy and ability to do more with my kids. My son is a teenager and he has called me out on being lazy a few times (in open conversations).. I don't want that to be the way he sees me anymore so I fight through it now regardless of the pain. My daughter is 3 and I always plan on going out with her on the weekends but then end up staying home.. The point is you may still struggle with the idea even after paying the deposit. Just remember that you thought hard about this and its worth it.
julielle 199 Posted October 29, 2012 It's a big decision! My surgery was supposed to be today and got pushed back to Nov 8th, it was definitely a mix of huge disappointment mixed with a bit of relief!
~newnew13~ 22 Posted October 29, 2012 I struggled as well thinking if I should do it, but after writing the pros and cons its best for me. Personally only you can decide if your ready. Fear challenges us all, but you'll soon be over it and realize its for the best. Good luck!! I paid mine this month n it's non refundable, so the money is gone lol., honestly after adding it up, its money I would've wasted on other non important things like fast food or toys my kids really dont need lol .. So cheers to a new person 2 Bos123 and LezzieLez reacted to this
Robbino 32 Posted October 29, 2012 Change is hard, especially one as big as this. It's a huge and very personal decision. You're not alone. I was just sleeved 3 days ago and feel so much relief that I went through with it and didn't back out. I think of it as a lifetime commitment to myself. I was at work so only read bits and pieces of it, but I can't believe the airline cancelled your flight! that sucks... I would have been in hysterics too! You probably were already nervous about the surgery, and then all that happens!

amykins 202 Posted October 30, 2012 I went through the same feelings until the day of surgery. It's normal. I made a list of the pros and cons, and believe them there were a lot more pros than cons. I pulled it out when I would get the jitters, or read success stories on the various boards. In the end, I just did it step by step. I told myself I just had to get on the plane. Then I just had to go check out the hospital. If it felt even a little off, I was outta there. Great staff, super-clean hospital, okay. That night I ate my last meal, meditated a little, prayed alot, and just felt really calm. It's okay to be nervous. It's life-changing surgery. Your life will never be the same. It will be better! for example, two months out, I am smiling and posing for pictures. I have hidden from cameras for so many years. Now I'm jumping in them! 2 AmandaRaeLeo and Jesser reacted to this

amykins 202 Posted October 30, 2012 Jesser, not yet. I'll be two months tomorrow so it still could happen. I do take Biotin every other day and all the other stuff they recommend. But if it does, it's just hair. It will grow back. 1 AmandaRaeLeo reacted to this
