If I have to drink one more Protein Shake I'm going to lose it! I never thought I'd crave carrots, but I'm longing for something I go an actually feel in my mouth. I'm 4 days post op and doing ok. Like a lot of you, I'm having a hard time getting my two Protein Shakes in. I'm focusing on liquid count so that I don't get dehydrated. Now this is kind of yucky, but I've yet to have a BM. Last one was Tuesday. Is that normal. I was also feeling a little blue today thinking I'll never be able to enjoy a real meal again, but I keep telling myself that I will eventually be able to eat real food, just in much smaller portions. I've seen some of you post that your all liquid diet allows cream Soups and pudding. Is that something I could add. I think this would be so much easier if I could add something savory. I've never been much of a sweet tooth so the sugary sweet shakes are really annoying.

My post OP all liquid diet allows for fat free/sugar free pudding. I add a scoop of my Protein Powder in it. It is pretty good, and helps me eat all my Protein. I can also have the low fat cream Soups, strained. I mix with milk, and then add 1/3 cup of dry milk for 8 more gr. Protein. I want to buy some Unjury unflavored to add to the soups, but have not yet. Definitely check, but if you are not on all clears, then this should be okay. Im 6 days post op, and following my dr. Instructions to the letter!

Good luck

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
