jillb 45 Posted October 27, 2012 My sleeve was done on Oct. 17th. I lost a couple lbs the first couple days then I gained a couple lbs. I am down a whopping 1 lb total! I only drink 2 Protein Shakes a day and then Water. sometimes I have a sf popsicle. I am so discouraged right now. I lost more before the surgery on the liquid diet. What am I doing wrong? healthiermom 27 Posted October 27, 2012 Did they put a drain in you after surgery? I know some drs do, it may not show on the scale if you have a lot of Fluid in you.
pink grace 31 Posted October 27, 2012 am wondering if your body is protesting and going into starvation mode, and you could be holding on to Fluid, hang in there, it has to start coming off sometime, and as we are all different you are just being you, could you talk with someone from your aftercare team? x

JD7176 84 Posted October 27, 2012 Your bodies are still swollen and bloated from surgery. Stay off the scale. My doc told me don't even think about getting on a scale. The first time he wanted me to weigh was my 3 week post op appt at his office.
jillb 45 Posted October 27, 2012 I didn't have a drain and don't feel like I am holding fluids. I am on full liquids now and I added a chicken broth Soup that's when I gained 2 lbs. Just a bit disappointed and depressed today. I have been so excited and sticking straight to my diet but still... only 1 lb.

Ready 2 Fly 22 Posted October 27, 2012 Some of us just lose slower. Sad but true, so try not to compare to the quick loss that others have. Trust me I know it is discouraging. Maybe you are not getting enough Protein, get some good quality Protein Powder and try to get the required grams of protein so you can heal up and feel better. The first couple of weeks are kind of discouraging for those of us who lose slow, but every one on here is very encouraging and they continually tell us to stick with it and it will work. So you and I will eventually get there at our own body's pace.
lynn37 6 Posted October 27, 2012 Get rid of the scale!!!!! I had to..
Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted October 27, 2012 I was still on full fluids my first two weeks. You have to make sure you are sipping Water all day, are you getting in your 64 ounces? I was not to be so concerned with Protein at this stage. I also had a variety of Soups, shakes, water, yogurt.
Kelly123 13 Posted October 27, 2012 This is going to sound weird but you have to eat or in your case drink in order to lose. You should be getting 50 to 60 grams of Protein and 64oz of Fluid. Hit those goals and start walking a little bit and the weight will start coming off. Good luck! 1 FishingNurse reacted to this
turbosprint 4 Posted October 27, 2012 I was told that I would probably be up ten pounds after all of the fluids they pumped into me at the hospital and to not weigh myself for two weeks after surgery.
