cali4nan 5 Posted October 27, 2012 Sleeved on Tues, on clear liquid I got home yesterday. I have been able to take in what seems to be a lot, for example in the hospital a meal consisted of a Popsicle, 1/2 cup broth, and 1/2 Jello. Today, for lunch and again for dinner, I had a cup of Soup (liquified in blender) Is this too much during one sitting? Will the amount I consume decrease with more solid foods? I was worried about this also. I asked surgeon and was assured it would change. Just as she said it would it did. liquids go straight thru. This is why we can't eat and drink at the same time. Don't worry. 1 cali4nan reacted to this
wdrake_98 22 Posted October 27, 2012 Congrats on your surgery. Glad everything went well. What kind of Soup did you have?
cali4nan 5 Posted October 27, 2012 Congrats on your surgery. Glad everything went well. What kind of Soup did you have? chicken tortilla soup. I have a Montel Williams' blender that liquifies just about anything. I bought a variety of lentil and bean Soups to blend for the "full liquid" diet my nut has me on. Holly5.3 423 Posted October 27, 2012 Full liquids-I'm confused. Are they different from dr. to Dr. as well? My nut. guidelines specify canned, creamed Soups only, thinned with 50% skim plus milk then put through a strainer. I would love to blenderize home-made soups-so much healthier and tastier! I go on phase 3 puree on 10/31 and look forward to having pureed soups with beans-delish!
cali4nan 5 Posted October 28, 2012 My nut defines full liquids as anything the consistency of a milk shake or thinner. But she allows cram of wheat as well. Seems arbitrary.

Fiddleman 4,376 Posted October 28, 2012 My NUT wanted us to focus on shakes for liquids but we xould also have bariatric Soups ( high protein). For shakes, they wanted us to drink 2 ounces every hour for every hour awake. I think they advised this to help with hunger and the healing process. I did this for 3 weeks.
