Denise2 0 Posted October 9, 2006 Its great hear that you are in a good place emotionally during the pre-op diet. I am starting the pre-op diet on the 12th. I am sort of looking forward to it so I can stop all the "Last Supper Syndrome." Which lilquid drink do you find tasted the best?
mzsmartypantz 0 Posted October 9, 2006 Dr. Baker has his patients do the HMR 800 Meal Replacement shakes. They are not terribly bad tasting. We can add fruit or splenda to them. I am drinking orange/banana this morning.
GayleTX 1 Posted October 9, 2006 It's great when the cravings subside, isn't it. I'm 6 months out and that has been the most astounding part of this whole thing....I don't have any cravings or miseries!! The key, it seems, is cleaning the bad carbs out of your system (the white carbs.....bread, Pasta, rice, etc)....they create the cravings and make them worse every time you eat them. Continued success to all of you.......
*susan* 1,709 Posted October 9, 2006 Sam, you are doing great. It is easier when you keep in mind the reward for following that liquid diet. Only one more week until you are an official bandster!!!

I am sort of looking forward to it so I can stop all the "Last Supper Syndrome." Which lilquid drink do you find tasted the best? I was so glad to read your post! I thought it was just me who had the 'last supper syndrome'! I've really had to put my foot down as i feel as if I am completely losing control with my eating. There's a kind of desperation to eat everything that I won't be able to before the pre-op diet. Unfortunately I have included wheat which is a definite no no for me. That is really waht has made me apply the breaks and I am going to start the pre- op diet a week earlier but have a last fun meal with my son on Sunday, the day I officially start the diet as my surgery will only be a week away! I must admit the mix of my emotions is very unsettling at the mo, which is another reason for eating like a horse!
