Everybody only gets to eat an ounce of pureed food an hour right?

My surgeon says no more than 4 ozs. but take it what you can tolerate over a 30-45 minute period.

Remember getting your Protein and fluids are the most important thing...I would have Decaf tea first thing and take my PPI then wait 30 min an have Breakfast, either hot Cereal or yogurt or soft scrambled eggs....then wait 30 min then get have a sugar free drink and daily Vitamins...wait about an hour then a Protein shake...then at lunch have your pureed meal...then 30 min after a big glass of iced tea or crystal light or Water....maybe a late afternoon snack a SF pudding, yogurt, or Jello, or a Protein Shake. dinner a pureed entree, then 30 min later have a SF drink, in the evening maybe Jello or yogurt, SF popsicle or SF hot cocoa....that's what I did and I got my fluids and Protein and felt great. Most meals at this stage are about 1/2 cup drinks were about 8-16 oz over a hour or so.

Good luck!

Can a can of say Progressive chicken noodle or chicken and rice Soup be put in a blender for the puréed stage. I was wondering about the ingredients like rice or Pasta in the Soup. Since they are really not allowed would I take them out before I purée the soup? The it would be just the meat veggies and broth to purée.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
