Whoops. Yes newgrandmother that was for you. A Bartholyn's cyst is located on the outside of the vajayjay. The bartholyn gland is responsible for producing lubrication. Sometimes it gets inflamed/plugged and develops infection. Can be very painful.

I hope I don't get that. I've never had acne not even through puberty. Everyone always complemented me on my skin. I guess this is pay back.

First, don't assume that the boils are related to your surgery. They may not be related at all. I've had boils for years, less frequently since I have lost a lot of weight, but I still have flare ups sometimes.

Second, NEVER pop a boil. Let it drain on its own or have the doctor lance it. Squeezing it or opening it with a non-sterile needle at home can create much worse infections.

Third, warm compresses applied every 20 minutes will help to bring it to a head, but some places are tougher than others to work on. If you have one in the tender tissues down there, you should have a doctor look at it right away.

Fourth, ALWAYS wash your hands thoroughly if you've touched the area of the boil. You can transfer the bacteria to other places and cause more boils.

Good luck!

I knew they were spreading. It just seems like once it popped another one would come.

LJ, when one drains, try to get into the shower or use disposable towels to catch the drainage. Those go into the garbage immediately. You should try not to let the drainage spread, because that just reinfects you. Wash any clothing that comes into contact with it in disinfectant and/or hot Water.< /p>

Just got back from the Dr. She said it looked very angry (just what I thought) She said it didn't look infected but since it is a cluster and she felt 7 marble size balls she decided to put me on Antibiotics. If it doesn't clear up in 5days I have to go back and have it drained. She also said it was common since my immune system was effected by the surgery. She did say to stop the Biotin until it clears up. Since it's on my inner thigh if it gets close to the hair folicals I'm screwed. So if you guys are having this go to the Dr. soon.

It doesnt sound surgery related to me either. After the birth of my son 20 some years ago I developed these boils, mostly under my armpit but I did get one or two on the thigh also. It was a problem that lasted for a long time, but thank goodness hasn't bothered me for many years. I was diagnosed with HIDE by a dermatologist, although luckily a moderate case. I never had more then 1-2 boils at a time and like I said, they have not reappeared in ages. It is just awful to consider what people with advanced/severe HIDE go through.

I don't know wht triggered it and it might be immune degredation but i always blamed it on my hospital stay...lol. Luckily baby never got it and he is 20 now so I think is out of the woods.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
