I was sitting at my desk at the house doing some paperwork after I had eaten my lunch. I started feeling horrible with nausea. I couldnt figure out what was going on until I realized that my house helper was frying chicken and the smell was making me nauseated! Shoot, no temptation there!!!!! BLAH!

That's a total surprise. You are so fortunate to have someone like your house keeper to cook for you and your family. Maybe she could broil the chicken next time. LOL :) Great to not be tempted.

Fried foods are my weakness. Hopefully after surgery it will help me fight off the urge to eat everything fried. lol

Fried foods rarely agree with me now. Don't get me wrong, I can put it in my mouth and EAT it. But hours later I just feel lethargic and kind crappy. A real turn-off!

My roommate/sister had popeye's chicken a couple nights ago...the smell made me nauseated too...And then yesterday she made a peach crumble pie...OMG! Is she trying to kill me or what? She was doing the diet with me but she gave up I guess (she is only 18 and not overweight at all <_<).

Yes I am blessed to have a helper. We live in Peru, South America and we are missionaries so we are always so busy so her cooking for me (and cleaning my toilet) has really helped so much. The problem comes now that Peruvian food is laden with rice and potatoes so I have to teach her to cook other things. She has gotten down meatballs and meatloaf pretty well now so I will start giving her new recipes as the day goes on.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
