How is everyone doing?? I was sleeved 11/15 and have lost 58 lbs so far, but have hit a stall for the last month or so, losing and gaining the same 2 lbs. It's so frustrating. I've joined a gym, I hired a personal trainer about 2.5 weeks ago and still NOTHING.. I don't understand.. WHen I dieted before I always got to this point and never was able to lose any more and it seems as soon as I started exercising the weight loss stopped and here we go again. Granted I have PCOS so that doesn't help matters but still! I always get between 165-157 and stop losing and here I am at 162 and NOTHING for a month. So frustrated.. I still have 37 lbs to go (but the doc says no more than another 25-30 but I don't agree)... I'm thrilled that I've lost 58 lbs so far, but gosh, I was hoping to be much much further along by now, I had been losing about 10 lbs per month until May hit! I'm not over eating, I get in my Protein and Water for the day, haven't cheated at all... UGH! LOL

Hope you are all doing well!

Surgery 11/12/13

Highest weight 225.5

Today....155.2....Have been hanging here and going up a couple of pounds, but this is my lowest. Need to get back to Water aerobics when I'm back in town. Walked a 20 minute mile outside and working on increasing speed. Have a 5K Color run/walk I'm doing in mid July. Going for a better time. Anyway, I wear a 16 or 14 on the bottom and a medium or large on top now. Started at 22/24 or 2x so am pleased about that. Will tuck my shirts in and wear a belt. Sleeveless is not great because of my angel wings. Have added back a few carbs like Barilla Plus Pasta, and brown rice. Eat just about 3 tablespoons with Protein and vegetables. Still a Protein shake a day, to keep my Protein up or a Pure Protein chocolate and Peanut Butter bar or ProtiDiet chocolate crisp bar. Add skim milk to my coffee and make a iced coffee with sugar free Syrup. Goes down easier than Water. Hope everyone else is doing well. Down to below birth weight of both my kids with my youngest being 39 now. More energy!!! Still want to eat things I shouldn't but luckily, my stomach is too small. Had 1 small handful of popcorn at the movie yesterday, and then went back to my iced coffee with Decaf coffee. Good luck everyone. Carol

Hi everyone! I was sleeved November 1st. My highest weight was 261- no pre obs diet. I have lost 82 obs and 22% body fat. I am at normal BMI and all my blood work is perfect! I work out intensely 5 days a week. Because of that, I have had to up my food intake.....I stick to good carbs- sweet potatoes, brown rice, quinona....eat a lot of eggs, turkey, chicken...I try to stay away from dairy as much as possible. I still do not eat red meat. For me exercise has been a huge part of my journey- it has helped my body really change! There are slider foods for me....I have to be careful....popcorn and rice cakes are the main ones. I defintely still don't drink enough water- it is REALLY hard getting Water down. Plus I still can't eat and drink at the same time.

I was a size 20 and am now a size 10 on bottom and 12 on top. My issue is now a little extra skin (under arms and stomach)- but I am working each day on trying to lose that- I really don't want to rely on cosemtic surgery for anything.

I want to lose about 15 more lbs and just continue to gain muscle and strength. I have registered for the Spartan Race- so that is a new goal for me.

Keep at it- I know for me - the BEST decision ever!

Hi everyone!!! I've been reading this awesome site!! Learned lots and grateful to be able to hear and belong to this forum for support and advise.

I just got scheduled for my surgery Friday, 11/15 at 8:30am.

Female

age 46, bday is 11/4

Current weight 266

Goal weight 170

Height 5'7

size 18/20

I'm diabetic type 2, take metaformin 500 x2,

have high blood pressure take 25 mg daily,

have 4 lumbar bulging disc and recovering from

knee arthroscopy take 800mg as needed for pain, so not able to be physically active as I would love to be.

My pcp, orthopedic and older Endricologist are 100% supportive with me and for my surgery.

I'm seeing a new Endricologist for 2nd opinion because I'm experiencing weird symptom randomly such as anxiety, panic attacks, sudden heart palpitation, feeling like I can't swallow. She did lots of lab work.

She found I'm low in Vitamin D and prescribed 10,0000 mg x4 a month and also found Protein in my urine and prescribed rampril take daily

She said it's not my not diabetes causing these new symptoms but need to go back and see her with new lab next week after being on vitaminD and RAMIPRIL for 1 month And will check my thyroid again all lab work look good expect the glucose and bad cholesterol which I'm hoping not to have to start meds for.

When i asked her for her opinion on the WLS she was appalled and no why would I want to when we are trying to find out what going in with you

She's the only the only one that's not for my WLS

which throws me off if my 1st Endricologist is.

I'd think she would say yes and look at it as I would get healthier to loose weight and reverse diabetes and get off all meds.

I start my liquid diet next on 11/1 3 days before my bday. I wasn't expecting my approval so quick and surgery to be scheduled in December, so I won't be having cake for by 47th bday, instead celebrating the beginning of a new healthier and positive life!

My emotions are out of control. I'm excited yet I'm feeling a scared. I get nervous come hear and read up and helps calm me down and sets me back on track that I'm doing the right thing

Best wishes and luck to all of us!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
