Fitjen 17 Posted October 24, 2012 I'm three weeks post op and am noticing that I seem to be snapping at my family more than usual. It's not a constant thing but I am definitely lacking my usual patience. . I feel like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Is this normal? Will it go away?
5DoxieMom 87 Posted October 24, 2012 I was the same way. Looking back, I realize that I was not in my right mind! I was better by 7 weeks or so. Be careful, don't say or do anything that you'll regret (I did).
GeauxForIt 659 Posted October 24, 2012 I'm only a week and a half out, but I'm cranky, too! I'm pretty sure it's bc I'm tired and hungry, and this is stressful, relearning how to fuel my body and to use food in an appropriate way. Don't be too hard on yourself. It's a major surgery and a huge life change.
Susie in Lima 320 Posted October 24, 2012 I am 6 weeks out and havent been cranky but I have been feeling a little down in the dumps for a few weeks. No reason for it either so I just am chalking it up to hormones and crazy things going on in my body. Hope you feel better soon! 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
jaime1190 7 Posted October 24, 2012 Its kind of like a smoker trying to quit smoking, "Cold Turkey". Your body could be acting out, or going through a withdrawl. A withdrawl from your old eating habits. But just like anything else, it will get better with time, when your body adjusts to the "new" way of eating. Congrats to you, and keep up the hard work! 1 jennrus reacted to this

Jakat 25 Posted October 24, 2012 Well ladies I don't have the same hormonal problems you guys do, but yes I have good days and bad, cranky days. Remember we have just gone thru major surgery and are trying to reverse a lifetime of bad habits. I am a month out and it is getting better. Just try to keep a positive attitude and remember we did this for a better life.

sleeve_sister 110 Posted October 24, 2012 I am a week out and emotionally miserable! I dont want to eat a dang thing and just want to sleep it off. It's almost like post partum depression without the nursing infant to deal with. I'm 1800 miles from home and just want to be comatose in my own bed! Ehhh I have anxiety meds but HATE to take them. I'm so dang stubborn I need to get it together but not sure how to.
Fitjen 17 Posted October 24, 2012 It's such a relief to hear that I'm not alone. I've seriously worried I might be losing my mind. This too shall pass I guess. Maybe it's all the estrogen stored in fat being released as the weight comes off? PMS on steroids!

Maybe it's all the estrogen stored in fat being released as the weight comes off? PMS on steroids! I was relieved too! I came looking to see if anyone else was going through this and glad I'm not. It still sux but at least it seems to be normal. Hope you feel better!
danyelleb 386 Posted October 24, 2012 Yup, was a bit of a mess for the first six weeks. I had some adjustment issues. Everything settled out eventually. Sent from my iPhone using VST
