Hi Kim,

Sorry...I have been obsessing with all of the complication threads and haven't gotten back to this on in a while.

My step sister that lives in San Diego is meeting me at the airport and coming in with me. I had been pretty good with the diet until the day before Halloween when I got candy for the kids. I should have stuck to getting the kind I hate instead I got butterfingers and reeses.ughhhhh. I have gained back 4 of the 14 I had lost! I will she you on the 3rd :)

We heard from any of our yesterday bandsters?

No, we haven't.... I wonder if the glitch in the site deterred anyone. Hopefully they will be posting soon!

Grace, how are you doing since the tragic loss of your priest? I hope you are being comforted.... That was a terrible accident. I am so sorry...

Angela, have you tried the Profect Protein tubes? You can get them online. I can't have whey, so these are great for me. 25 grams in fruity base. And YES, I got your phone number now---that was ANOTHER thing freakin' me out with the shutdown. I had left it in my PMs and was afraid it was gone for good. Wow, are we hooked on this board or what??!! :paranoid

Welcome back everyone!!

Karen

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all doing well. I have been having a really really rough week. Tough times at work, with family, friends...I am feeling really down and overwhelmed...:cry

My four year old niece was put in the hospital on Weds. with very severe respitory issues and she is still there. My really good neighbor friend has moved back to California...without her husband... My family is still so unsupportive about all of this and is giving me difficulties in addition...My work, as a teacher....oh dear...I just want to curl up and hide. :phanvan

I got my date! November 29, so I'm a November Bandster! Thanks to everyone for posting their experiences, and my thoughts are with you all. After reading your posts I feel more excited than nervous.

I'm 5'4", 234 pounds. Going to Dr. Perez at US Bariatrics in Ft. Lauderdale - self-pay. (Tricare sucks)

What a crazy process! Endoscopy, colonoscopy, 2 sleep tests, that thing where they put a tube down your nose, blood test, EKGs, stress test, psych eval, I'll be so glad when this is over. I got fit for a CPAP last night - does anyone else have to use one? It was very uncomfortable - any suggestions would be appreciated.

Best wishes to everyone!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
