Not Feeling Full....

Recommended Posts

Ok, i am only 2.5 weeks out and i rarely feel full! This is scary to me! What the heck? I ate 2 oz of chicken and 2 oz of cheese for lunch today and maybe, kind of sorta felt full. Has anyone else experienced this? Does this mean im going to be eating too much in the very near future and not loose the weight after all this?

When I was 2-3 weeks post op and eating pureed foods alot of time I dodn't feel full and I would go to bead feeling hungry every night but now that I am eating solid foods in week 6 I do feel full at every meal because I make sure I have protien at each meal which fills me.....I hated protien shakes and couldn't do them so I always felt hungry.

I hope it gets better for you too.

VitaleEM....yup, that's it exactly. You won't even feel real restriction until you are on firm solids....then believe me, you WILL stop eating because you cannot eat another bite, and the feeling of fullness can be very uncomfortable.

I do still get hunger, so i eat a snack between meals - like a cheese stick or olives or nuts.

liquids slide in and liquids slide out...so you might not feel full. I measured everything I ate for months. Some of us get a full signal...my early one was the slimies (drool) when full. Now, I sneeze.

Crazy this little sleevie wonder. Take it slow and be patient. Your body and sleeve will change as you heal and go through different food stages.

Congrats on being sleeved!!!! I love my sleeve and have no regrets.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
