Today Im 2 months post op and have lost 29 pounds as of this morning, to me this is very very slow as before surgery when I would diet I have dropped 85 pounds in less then 3 months, I was much heavier then when I started this time but it still seems like I should be losing much faster, and the reason for the surgery is I can never keep it all off. So I was wondering what was y'alls starting weight and how much did y'all lost at 2 months post op? Thanks any answers would be appreciated.

I'm nearly four months and have only lost 46 lbs. At two months I had only lost about 25 lbs. I know we're losing slower than a lot of others, but consider the fact that so far you are still averaging more than three and a half pounds a week, every week! Slow is not a bad thing. As long as the scale keeps moving in the right direction, we're doing all right!

I haven't been sleeved yet and 30-40 pounds in 2 months sounds like heaven. On weight watchers or jc the best I ever lost was 15 the first month and maybe 5-8 pounds each month after. Its why I always quit and gained it back in about 10 minutes.

I'm losing super slow. I was sleeved on 8/21. I around 230. Today I weighed in at 207. I'm ok with that loss. I started at 253 in May and lost a lot pre-surgery. I KNOW that weight is never coming back.

I never was a big eater. Sure, I'd have my Pasta binges but I never ate near the quantity my weight looked like I was. Nobody believed me!! They thought I was a closet eater. Post surgery the docs and NUT are FINALLY believing me. We think that I am just very, very sensitive to carbs. So i try to stay less than 20, but 10 grams a day is better. W/o this surgery I wouldn't have been able to sustain that low like amount like I can now. So i'm putzing along, slowly losing and enjoying life w the knowledge that eventually i'll get to my goal weight.

I started at 281, almost 6 weeks ago and I am down 31 lbs. but never lost last week so I think things are slowing down for me as well but I am happy with each pound I lose because like everyone else is saying....I know I will keep it off because I can't eat much.

At 2 months I had lost 30 pounds and at my check up they told me it was average. I felt like it was super slow because like you I had lost more faster on previous diets. My husband just kept encouraging me that this time it was staying off. It is not what I expected but looks like I will loose about 10lbs a month. Really it's not that bad and considering that I have energy, can easily get in all needed Protein and liquids and tolerate all foods in small amounts. I also think that my age (50) and the regain from my many previous diets may have messed with my metabolism and made it slower. All the more so makes me glad I choose to go through surgery. I knew I was done with the diet failing and could not get myself to do it again.

I was sleeved July 7th and I'm down 48 pounds. Sometimes I feel like a slow one, other times I don't, I started at 250 and now 203, I think I've hit my second stall after I lost 17 pounds. I guess my body needed a break, lol.oh well as long as it comes off.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
