slojo 150 Posted October 23, 2012 Caffeine decreases the bloodflow to the stomache which is needed for proper healing. I drank coffee immed. after surgery because I wasn't told not to. I read somewhere that it can delay healing of stomache...
SleeveDreamer 383 Posted October 23, 2012 Caffeine can dehydrate you and at first, can slow healing of your stomach. I drink Decaf only with no problems. Although there is no way I would ever get dehydrated anyway since I drink almost a gallon of Water a day!
scorpion509 107 Posted October 23, 2012 I was allowed to drink Decaf coffee. and I am ( or I was) the coffee drinker 5 cups per day. But after surgery my Body said that it doesn't like coffee. I cannot drink it right now. I tried it with skim milk ( before I only use black) still not good. the maximum what I can drink is 3 oz of coffee and always don't finish it up. susanfaye 162 Posted October 23, 2012 I stayed away from coffee for two months post op. I now drink it daily. I have changed so many things for the better witht this surgery, but coffee is the one thing I'm not willing to give up. I love it! I do drink extra Water to balance the dehydration factor. 1 IrishEyes reacted to this
