I've been having a very difficult time getting in my Water in lately. It seems like I'm getting water logged, is anyone else having this issue. I'm 5 weeks out. Thanks!

Yea, I had it too. But try and FORCE yourself to drink enough. I go by the color of my urine. Kidney stones can form when dehydrated and taking Calcium supplements and they are VERY painful and scary.

NO urine - EMERGENCY drink something now!

Dark urine - drink more

Light yellow to clear - enough

Run to the restroom every 30 minutes - too much, back off.

I have the same issue. I get sort of sick and dizzy when I'm drinking the Water. Just keep sipping or try flavors...that can help. I have to take a blood pressure pill that dehydrates me, so I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle. Hoping the dr. will prescribe me a different one when I go in Nov. I'm a little over 5 weeks out, too.

I am three weeks post op and am having similiar problem...now I finally can have food instead of just liquids, so that helps because I was having a really hard time of it after 4 weeks of liquids and yogurt... I can't find any flavor that helps me drink more either... for some reason everything I drink tastes funny... and we have purified Water, so I know it's me... I'm still looking for the right combo to help me with my intake, but, like you, I have to PUSH myself to drink ... good luck... if anyone has some suggestions, I am open to them as well!

I vary the temperature and flavor of my drinks. Some room temperature Water, some hot tea or Decaf, some ice Water. Early out, I drank on a schedule to get the water in.

1.25 cups before Breakfast (generally a decaf coffee and water to drink my morning vitamins)

.25 cup in my yogurt smoothie at Breakfast

2.25 cups before lunch (usually 2 cups ice water and water to take my lunchtime calcium)

2 cups before 4 p.m. (hot tea or a sugar free flavored water and another cup of water)

1 cup after dinner in my evening Protein shake

1.25 before bed (1 cup of hot tea or ice water and water for evening vitamins)

Same here! I loved plain Water pre-op, now i can barely tolerate it. I feel so waterlogged unless I add flavor. It is actually getting worse the further along I get! Crystal lite tastes too fake and gives me a headache, plain lemon is slightly better, but i love ocean spray cran-grape sugarfree pkts. Too bad they are so expensive, $3.50 for a box.

I am really hoping this is a temporary problem!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
