Hello,

I am a little concerned and I want to know if this is normal so early in my post-op phase? I was sleeved 10/11/12 (9 days ago)

I am feeling kind of hungry all the time. I am on full liquids and am able to drink way more than 1 ounce 15 minutes, in fact I can drink 1/2 cup of broth in less than 10 minutes and a few minutes later I'll feel hungry (not head hunger) and I can consume 1/2 cup of yogurt (thinned out) like nothing. I am following Dr's directions and am consuming anywhere from 48+ ounces of Fluid a day and Calories between 400-600 and Protein between 60-91 grams (that has been my range) It just seems I am able to consume quite a bit of liquids with no problem and I am worried this won't work for me?

Please any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

i wonder what size bougie he used on you. some doctors use a larger bougie therefore leaving you with a larger stomach..they range from 32 to 40. my dr uses a 34..i haven't been sleeved so i can't say for sure if what your going thru in normal but goodluck

I was sleeved on the same day. I'm not really hungry, just head hunger. I just had 2 oz pudding and feel so stuffed! I'm hoping my sleeve isn't to small. I actually had to lay down i felt so sick.

Did you thin the pudding out? Gosh, I'm nowhere near feeling stuffed with 2 ounces.

Sleeved 10/2 and I too am in the same boat as u. I can chug liquid (of course I do it accidentlly ) and then freak out when I realize what I did but don't feel pain or discomfort. Takes me about 45 mins - 1 hour to down a bottle of Water

I have been wondering the same thing. I was sleeved on 10/8/12 and I'm still on full liquids. I can eat thinned yogurt in about 20 min and tonight I put some of my homemade brunswick stew in the blender (I have a vitamix so it liquifies everything) and I "ate" a cup in 30 min but then i was very full.

What Ive noticed is that sometimes I can eat or drink more than others and Im still trying to learn what is the best amount to consume.

I have no problems drinking my Water or Protein shakes and I haven't felt sick or anything. From other posts on here, I think if we eat too much we will get sick or get the slimes. So I guess we are doing ok.

Do you track your calories on my fitness pal? I do and still consuming between 500-900 cals a day. That has to result in weight loss. I have been in a stall the past 4 days. I dont know if that counts as a stall because technically we shouldnt weigh more than once a week. But I have been so excited about the scale dropping that I couldn't help myself.

I do track my calories on that website and I am consuming between 400-600 calories but I think I have yet to consume 500. I lost like 9 pounds within the first 5 days of being sleeved and have not really lost since.

but it seems as your weight loss is going well? Have you lost 22 pounds since you were sleeved? I've lost only about 9 and that was in the first 5 days or so and nothing since.

To be honest, not really...I was 280 at my highest 260 the day of surgery. Yesterday I was 248 so 12 lbs since surgery almost 3 weeks ago. I was obsessing over the scale totally beat myself yesterday for gaining a pound so I had a family member hide the scale. I get it back next Friday lol. Going to focus on my Water and Protein intake this week

Count yourselves lucky that you can get your fluids in easily...I was the same way and my surgeon said everyone is different and some have less swelling and inflammation. Stalls are a normal part of losing weight...your body is adjusting, just keep it up and you'll see that you lose the weight sometimes slow but surely. Don't worry...you'll feel the REAL restriction when you get to solids.

Thank you Katie, somehow every time you have posted, you've managed to make me feel at ease. The smushies don't seem so yucky, the Isopure is ok after all and my sleeve IS going to work!

Chunkychick....sometimes we think the less we can take in the better, but for health purposes its not true, the sooner you can get 64 oz of liquid and 75-80 grams of Protein in the better, you are perfectly managing your intake at about 600-700 calories. My body loses in steps, I stay the same for awhile and then boom, I'm down another 5 pounds. This isn't a race and when we read posts about crazy huge losses really fast there are so many factors including male or female, starting weight, how much exercise, heredity....I always had stalls before my sleeve, and I still do but I am close to 100 pounds thinner since starting the weight loss journey last summer 2011. I was on a mandatory 12 week pre-op program and lost 28 pounds on a low calorie diet before having surgery in April 2012. This has changed my life, I lose slow and easy, but I feel healthy and finally enjoying shopping in regular stores not the big girl stores. Good luck, I am happy to give you any support that I can.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
