Why do you even let him in the house with that crap! What an unsupportive husband. It is almost like he is taunting you. My question is why is he eating all that garbage food anyway' date=' cook him a lovely healthy dinner, yum.[/quote']

The people in our lives are entitled to make whatever food choices they want! They're ADULTS! The food issues lie within US and are ours alone to conquer.

Having said that, I had a frank discussion with my husband pre-surgery about exactly what would help me succeed with regards to HIS behaviors. He CHOSE to adopt a healthy lifestyle bc it benefits our whole family and it will help me succeed.

I have a cousin who's an alcoholic. When we tailgate, there is alcohol around and most people are imbibing. It's his choice to be around others who have no alcohol issues and exercise willpower and restraint.

Yes the people around us are allowed to make their own food choices. Of course they are. No-one is saying otherwise.

I just don't think it's too much to ask of someone who loves you to be a little considerate about eating certain foods around us as we heal. I wouldn't have dreamt of eating chocolate around someone who couldn't have it and I hope people would have the same courtesy for me as I do them. Especially if they are loved ones.

I totally agree...at the very least its thoughtless and inconsiderate, at worse its downright cruel! My husband wouldn't do that to me and I wouldn't tolerate it anyway.

But at the end of the day, we are ultimately responsible for our own actions. Including how we allow others to treat us.

When i was on liquids my hubby took the toaster out on our deck to toast his bread! I love the smell of toasted bread.... He also figured out how to cook pizzas and other foods on his grill so he wouldn't smell up the house. AND he ate outside. Yeah, i married on of the 'good' guys. :-)

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
