Beebaby813 24 Posted October 20, 2012 Try this, in a bowl mix together 4 cups fat free milk, chocolate Protein Powder to taste, 1 can condensed milk (unsweetened) and fat free/ sugar free cool whip then put it in an ice cream maker and follow directions. Makes a frostie like consistency in an hour or so in mine and it is fantastic! Also take 4 ripe bananas slice and freeze for an hour, then put them in a blender with chocolate Protein powder and blend until smooth it makes banana ice cream it is so good! Both made in prep for this adventure and look forward to making them after I am sleeved! 3 drexelgirl, lessofmeismore and Almostthere34 reacted to this

Fiddleman 4,376 Posted October 21, 2012 http://calorielab.com/restaurants/sonic/sunshine-smoothie/14/2046 This one says 400 calories but only 3grams of sugar and 51 grams of Protein which is REALLY good! Hate to be a party pooper, but your body cannot absorb that much Protein at a time. It will absorb about 20-25 grams per sitting and the rest will just pass through. 1 Butterthebean reacted to this

bkz3 17 Posted October 21, 2012 I'm having cravings too! It's so hard to know what's "head hunger" and what's real hunger. My stomach sure feels like I'm hungry. I had surgery on 10/2 and I'm still on "full liquids", been on them for 2 weeks! Tomorrow I get to have puree food for a week. It's really hard to avoid cravings when I have a husband & son who still need to eat, but they've been eating some of my favorites, like pizza (from my favorite take out place too)! I know this is only temporary and in another 2 months, I'll be able to start eating "regular" foods again, it just seems like such a LONG time from now. Anyone that dares to ever say WLS is taking the "easy way out" can take a hike!! lol
SoonToBeThinKAT 67 Posted October 21, 2012 My husband has been awesome with not even brining junk into the house and really good about standing up to me when I say I have a craving. Especially since it's almost that time of the month. Ugh 1 krisq16 reacted to this
bkz3 17 Posted October 21, 2012 My husband has been doing his best at being supportive, but he just doesn't think sometimes, so I "kindly" remind him
Fiddleman 4,376 Posted October 21, 2012 My husband has been awesome with not even brining junk into the house and really good about standing up to me when I say I have a craving. Especially since it's almost that time of the month. Ugh Lucky for you! My wife still eats all the junk around me and I have just learned to ignore it and stick to plan. After a month or so of following good eating habits, the cravings really do subside and don't torment you. Also a person should be careful of the extra carbs here and there. A person may find it a lot easier to eat low carb as to not awaken the carb monster that lays dormant in each person. Eating carbs may be a little like throwing kidding on a fire causing the desire to get stronger and stronger until there is no choice but to satisfy the crave. Believe me, I knew all about this before the surgery and it would spin my insulin levels out of control, wreaking havoc on energy levels and mental well-being. Today I am pretty level headed and have a healthy approach to daily living that no longer is enslaved to the evils of modern day food choices that are full of sugar, salt and fat. 4 myafternoondesires, suegirl, Butterthebean and 1 other reacted to this
myafternoondesires 5 Posted October 21, 2012 My husband does the same thing to me. He goes to McDonalds, Taco Bell, Firehouse, eats Doritos and pop tarts in front of me. Has pizza and Oreos. Some days it really frustrates me. I just moved to mush foods 2 and get to taste chicken that was in Water in a can and tuna fish etc. For the most part I just ignore his eating habits but have noticed that some of the smells from the food really upsets my stomach especially the smell of grease. I throw up every-time. My family and him said they would help me along by eating things like I would when I first started my preop diet and they failed the second day and never looked back. :0( now they eat candy and all sorts of fast food in front of me.
