That is so sweet of your hubby. That being said, do you think you can lay on your stomach? I am sure they can massage you in side position if you can't. I don't think you really need to say much to the therapist unless they plan on massaging your belly. Other than that! ENJOY!

I'd be real surprised if a therapist would work on you this soon post op. I am an LMT and my general rule is 6 weeks after any major surgery. Massage causes massive amounts of fluids to be moved around inside your body. You don't know what kind of issues that might cause, nor does the therapist. Maybe nothing, but most professionals don't want to risk it.

After any real massage you are supposed to drink lots of Water. This is due to the toxins that a real massage will release into your system. You need to flush it out.

I don't really think you will get enough Water in to make this happen and you may feel more like S**t because of it.

Sorry,

IMABear

I was also worried about laying on my tummy but I talked to my massage therapist pre op and she told me if durin my appointment I'm not able to lay on my tummy she could give me a pregnancy belly holder thing...i don't know how to explain it but she uses it for her pregnant clients that can't go down on their bellys. I went for my first massage 2 weeks post op

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
