Laproscopic Surgery

Yes these days most bariatric surgery is done laproscopicly unless there is an issue during surgery that requires opening. That's not very common these days though I wouldn't worry about it.

I believe this is the surgery of the century . I took care of patients with the open WLS. And lost 2 of them from complications.

What kind of complications?..are you a nurse or something?..I am trying to get as educated as I can

But this was 15 years ago when we only did open gastric bypasses. With the new laparoscopic surgery the risks are very significantly reduced. It cannot even be compared to the old surgery. That is what makes it the most improved surgery of the century, I think .
