I am one week today. Certain foods make the gurgling act up more than others. Yesterday was my first cream Soup. Delish? Yes! Gurgle, burp, gurgle? Yeah! I ate a gasX chewable to help. Was allowed to have GasX even in hospital. Now I eat one before soup or broth. Even though they are fat free, they still bother me. This morning, however, the gas pain was pretty bad - marching in place and pumping my arms like an idiot helps it escape! (Such a Lady, I am!-lol)

3 day out. Was wondering if I can take Gas-X strips. HELP!! The nurse at the hospital said I couldn't take them. Thanks guys.

Call your doctor's office! There were some things the nurse told me not to take/do but when I called my doctor, i was told those things were ok. Go figure!

Thanks' date=' my time!

I'm doing very well. My parents have been amazing at helping me remember to sip, sip, sip & Protein, Protein, protein! My only issues at this point are that my navel incision is still pretty sore & my middle back is killing me. (Well, those things AND the amusing gurgling!!)

How are YOU doing? You must be on phase 4 by now, right?[/quote']

Phase 4 startes Monday. I have been sort of I a stall for the past week and half. Only lost 2 pounds. I know. That is better than not at all. Feel great though. Still get tired after work. But getting better. Let me know how you progress . BTW, did you get my PM last Sunday?

Hi Susan, I had my sleeve done the same day as you and my biggest problem is all of this gurgling... so annoying and loud. This def was not in my surgery packet or I might have reconsidered. A large part of my job involves taking business partners out to dinner. I already accepted that I would be ordering Soup but having my tummy be such an embarrassment is scaring me so much! I don't want to get laughed at or made fun of anymore!

I'm one month out and I gurgle more now that I'm progressing through the food phases. But, I can tell you I will take a little gurgling in order to be healthy! I'm so pleased with my sleeve and excited about the future, I'll take my noisy little stomach!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
