What Are Your Aspirations Once At Goal?

Recommended Posts

For example, I want to:

Run a marathon

Walk on the beach shirtless and feel good about it ( Hawaii trip next may)

Climb mount Rainer ( a local peak here in Washington)

Hike the PCT from California to Canada ( already have done shorter stints in Washington earlier in life)

Morgan, Andrew, and Ethan have the nerve to slowly get older with time :( - but.............i forgive them. their still terrific :)

make new friends, or renew older friendships

dh and i have the same b'day January 12 - but i robbed the cradle - Tom is 3 years younger than me!!!

on our 50th b'day we went on a cruise to Hawaii

we'll be 59 this january

on our 60th b'day i want to cruise to alaska WooHoo

maybe we'll take a smaller cruise before as a warm up :)

as "they" say, practice makes perfect

at least thats what i remember hearing 36 years ago before my daughter was born ;)

thats all i can think right now, but its start :)

My future aspiration was actually a bit large scale, meaning finding a new company to work for. Knowing the weight prejudice, I was feeling self concious about interviewing. However with recent pay cuts, etc. it looks like I'm going to have to start seaching now, and I'm only a month out and not too much noticable weight loss as yet.

But I'd like to get into Water sports (kayaking, jet skiing, etc.) and return to dancing. :)

I would like to be able to tuck a shirt into pants or a skirt and not see rolls! Be in a crowd and not feel self conscious. Eat in public and not feel like people are staring at me. And to be able to wear a sleeveless shirt!

I really just want to be a healthy Mom and set a good example for my two kids. I am happy to have this done befoer they start school so they won't have "the fat mom" out of their classmates. I look forward to having the energy to participate in all of their activities.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
