Thank you! Kind of funny last night I was soo thirsty and so i was drinking Water and just chugging it down and the thought crossed my mind that very soon this would not be a possibility. I know alot of people say they dont have true hunger only the head hunger but.....are u constantly thirsty?

Not constantly but ya know when you just wanna take a big gulp of a drink? Well it hurts if if I do it now. I was a BIG diet dr pepper drinker( like 6 cans a day) before surgery and now I have completely cut that out.

I'm just starting to feel head hunger today and I would be fine if like right now as I sip my cream of celery Soup my mother wasn't downstairs frying corn fritters-my childhood favorite! For the love of God' date=' woman have you no mercy! I was thrilled with my cream soup addition to my diet yesterday but the smell is making me naseaus and craving to eat it at the same time! Ewe! So greasy! She's trying to kill my family! I know she means well, but she's here from Florida to help take care of me. She's enjoying the fall weather. Yesterday it was roast pork with gravy and mashed potatoes! Aaaaahhhh! And she's always been trim! It's all good! Had to vent![/quote']

Lol well just know it probably wouldn't be any good anyway! My taste buds have completely changed and stuff I thought I would miss doesn't do it for me now :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
